Associate Professor Nigel Phang is a faculty member of NTU Nanyang Business School, Division of Strategy, Management and Organisation. He teaches human resource management and organisational change for postgraduate students and corporate executives. His research interest is in Asian talent management practices and impact on organisation performances. He has published several articles on talent management during his consulting career.
Nigel's professional experience is centered on more than 20 years of working across multiple markets and industries in Asia, including China and India. Among some of his key achievements, he had successfully turned around a talent management consulting business in China, received the Chairman Award from a local bank for successful M&A implementation and fast track promotion in a high tech MNC for providing effective organisation change interventions. As a former Managing Director of a global advisory and talent consulting firm, Nigel leverages his experience in sales operations and talent management, plus strong mix of corporate and consulting experiences to bridge academic research applications and deliver evidence based business solutions for Asian corporations. As a former HR Director and trained industrial psychologist, he is versatile in applying assessment and diagnostic tools to enable organisations to make informed decision in talent strategy execution.
Nigel holds a MBA from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University, MSc in Occupational Psychology from the University of Sheffield, Graduate Diploma in Psychology from University of Hull, Graduate Diploma in Personnel Management from the Singapore Institute of Management and Bachelor of Arts from the National University of Singapore. He currently serves as the Treasurer and an Exco member of the Singapore Badminton Association and the Vice President of the International Enterprise Singapore Society.
